At the 2015 Charlestown High School Honors Day for seniors who graduated in June, Tom Kendrick presented the first Charlestown Township Trustee’s “Community Service” Scholarship.  The 2015 recipient is Whitney Andrews.  Whitney is the daughter of Theresa and Tim Andrews and she begins her college experience this fall at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.  Whitney has had an impressive high school career, performed over 600 hours of community service, and will succeed in life.  Congratulations, Whitney and good luck at Anderson.

Tom also participates, along with his mother Sonja and siblings, Bob, Jim, and Annette Kendrick Phillips in the presentation of a scholarship honoring his father, Bill Kendrick.  Bill was a pillar of the community and worked for years as a butcher at Charlestown’s Key Market.  Bill passed in 2008.  Sonja retired from the United States Postal Service in 2005.  The 2015 Bill Kendrick Memorial Scholarship was the seventh annual scholarship awarded.  This year’s scholarship winners are Shelby Lynn Goedecker and Claudia Blankenship.  Good luck to them both as they enter the next exciting stage of their lives.
